A downloadable project for Windows

A visualization of a cellular automata brush/grass fire simulation, showing the tree that represents the terrain. Notice that previously burnt areas are resistant to being burned again, which is why some branches are left behind after the fire passes (to record which areas have been burnt).

The red circles are the cells of the simulation, and only are present when an active fire is in that cell's vicinity (one of the cells neighbors is on fire). The blue cubes represent the higher nodes in the tree. The tree is hexagonal and is based on the following paper.

Simulation can be started/paused with space. Camera is controlled with the mouse: L-click and drag to pan/tilt, R-click and drag to move in the plane of the camera, Middle click and drag to move forward/back.
